Wooden d-handle shovel. Mounted on Swedish m/1905 Ränsel backpack. Mounted on Swedish m/1900-12 Ammunition Belt. Hanging on Swedish carrying strap/ belt hook. This is a sturdy little entrenching tool. It is marked for the 11th infantry regiment. I cannot tell the exact date on it, but it must be 100 years old or older. I am not sure when they started making the metal d-handle variant, but this preceded it. There is a slight twist in the handle and approximately 20-25% of the finish on handle and blade have worn off through use and storage. I take it to work sometimes as I am not allowed to bring weapons. Works well at scaring off people, probably more so because it is strange seeing someone carrying around a shovel.
